(a) Location :

The parcel of land is located in a residential area (private houses), on the outskirts of Geneva city.

(b) Layout :

The building stands near the shrubbery to the north, with the garden to the south, overlooked by the generously glazed south facade.
The layout includes a covered shelter and a large closed independent outer room.

(c) Concept :

The ground plan takes the shape of a long rectangle, comprising one single storey, some 70 cm above ground level, thus isolating the pavilion from the ground.
The eaves cover the outer passageways on the two long sides, providing shelter for the inhabitants as they step outside.
The roof is made of one single panel and its structure is apparent. It provides spacious volume try inside.
The concept easily allows for extensions or changes to the initial project. An extra wall is all that is needed to re-dimension the space.

(d) Program :

- Entrance hall
- Toilet with sink
- Technical room and storage space (cellar, closets, washroom)
- Living room and dining room
- Open kitchen
- Three bedrooms
- Bathroom with bath, sink, shower and toilet

(e) Guiding lines :

Simplicity, cost effectiveness and rationalisation: these were the guiding lines in the decisions made at all stages of the project (the concept, the choices and the resolution of technical aspects).
Living in this house also generates few costs thanks to adequate and specific choices which take account of the environment (no outside upkeep, excellent insulation).

(f) Building site :

It took 12 weeks to build the entire house - under 3 months !
